Terms of Service
Last updated 16 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and the company that operates SEQN ("we", "us") about your use of SEQN, the video-making service at seqn.app ("SEQN"). By creating an account or using SEQN you agree to them. If you use SEQN for a business, you agree on its behalf.
1. What SEQN does
SEQN helps you research, script, narrate, edit and export videos, make thumbnails and prepare uploads. Some features use artificial intelligence (AI) from other providers. SEQN does not post anything to your channels; you choose what to publish, and where.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, or have a parent or guardian's permission to use SEQN.
- Keep your sign-in secure. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
- Give us an email address you can receive mail at; we use it to sign you in and for messages about your account and payments.
3. Your content
"Your content" is what you bring to SEQN (videos, photos, audio, voice recordings, scripts, links, logos, channel details) and what SEQN makes for you from it (scripts, voiceovers, edits, captions, thumbnails, exports).
- You keep ownership of your content. You give us a limited licence to store, process and copy it only to run SEQN for you (for example, to research, render and back up your projects). This ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups, which are deleted on their normal schedule.
- You're responsible for having the rights to everything you upload or ask SEQN to use, including footage, photos, music, quotes and other people's voices or likenesses. SEQN shows licence labels and credits where it can, but these are guidance, not legal advice; check before you publish.
- Voices: only clone or use a voice that is yours, or that you have the person's clear permission to use.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use SEQN to:
- make or share anything unlawful, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- deceive people, for example by impersonating a real person, or presenting made-up events, quotes or AI-generated material as real;
- harass, threaten or defame anyone, or make sexual content involving minors or anyone without their consent;
- break the rules of the platforms you publish on, including YouTube's requirement to disclose realistic altered or synthetic content;
- attack, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer SEQN, get around its limits, or share your account to avoid paying.
We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules, and will tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.
5. AI and research
AI and automated research can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. SEQN links facts and quotes to their sources and flags lines it couldn't confirm, but you're responsible for checking your video before you publish it. Ideas, titles and scores are suggestions, not promises of views or income.
6. YouTube
Some features (reading a channel, searching and showing YouTube videos) use YouTube API Services. By using them you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's Privacy Policy applies to what Google receives.
7. Plans, credits and payment
- SEQN has a free plan and paid plans, billed monthly or yearly. Plan prices, credits and export sizes are shown on the Plan page before you pay. Prices include VAT where it applies.
- Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time on the Plan page; your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.
- AI credits come with your plan each period and don't roll over. Top-up credits don't expire while your account is open, and are used after your plan's credits.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Where Stripe sells to you as a reseller (merchant of record), its terms for the purchase apply too.
- If a payment fails, we'll try again for a while; if it keeps failing, your plan returns to Free.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; the change applies from your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.
Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
8. Our service
SEQN's software, design and brand belong to us. We keep improving SEQN and may change or remove features. We aim to keep SEQN available and your work safe (including nightly backups), but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. Keep your own copies of anything important.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer. Otherwise, we're not liable for losses that weren't foreseeable, for lost profits, revenue, views or opportunities, or for what you publish. Our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to the amount you paid us in that time, or £100 if that's more.
10. Ending
You can stop using SEQN and delete your projects at any time, and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or if we stop offering SEQN; if we stop offering SEQN, we'll give you notice and time to download your work, and refund any unused time on a paid plan.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For important changes we'll tell you in advance by email or in SEQN. If you keep using SEQN after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts deal with any dispute, though if you're a consumer living elsewhere you keep the protection of your local law and can use your local courts.
